How does this rum taste?
Most love the dry, fruity citrus‑and‑peach profile, well-integrated 66% ABV and long finish. Critics find it less complex than top benchmarks. Consensus: a highly enjoyable, characterful Australian sipper.
If you enjoy cask-strength Caribbeans but want something drier and fruit-driven, this Beenleigh hits that spot with citrus and peach tea, though it’s a notch below the top RA benchmarks.
Beginners, those sensitive to high ABV, or drinkers who prefer sweet, soft rums; it’s dry, intense and less forgiving without dilution.

#4753 22.06.2024 Nice tasting afternoon and evening with Hannes at the shop in Odense. Nose Fresh, fruity, citrus, light apple, faint honey, faint peach, light wood. Palate Intense, light wood, balanced, fruity, light peaches, light citrus, faint roasted, medium dry. Finish Long and warm, medium spicy, light citrus
It's a great piece. Took me a while to find it here. I smell mostly apple and hints of honey and citrus on the nose. Then on the palate, woody notes to the point of bitterness. Very dry rum, I don't detect any sweetness in it. Overall, I like it very much. Mnam.
