Tasted this Jamaican blend released by the Swedish IB A-Bay Spirit at the Sweden (Stockholm) Rumfest 2024. It’s a blend where the majority is a 5-year tropical aged Worthy Park and a smaller part unaged Hampden DOK. These are thereafter aged in Sweden in Swedish 40L oak barrels for 2-5 years before being blended and bottled in just 198 bottles. Aromas and flavors is very smooth, elegant and round almost without esters and funkiness. It’s fruity with hints of spices, oak, banana and raisins. Overall a very nice rum that probably is perfect as an introduction to Jamaican rum because of that there’s just hints of esters and funk.
