I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
#4889 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Medium intense, green, fresh, light mango, floral, light herbal, sugarcane. Palate Warm, medium intense, fruits, light citrus, vegetal, faint herbal, light grass, sugarcane. Finish Long and warm, light oily, fruits, light mango, faint citrus, faint salt, light herbal, light floral. This one carries a stronger profile than the lighter ABV one. The ABV could have been better integrated, but still a good sipper.
7,5:On the nose there are vegetal notes with a slight lemony point, pure sugar cane juice is scented, agricole notes, flowery with geranium, litchi, mushrooms, olive, spicy, sea prawns, a sensation of freshness appears inspite of high degree of alcohol. 7:On the palate, the first attack is fatty, intense, full-on pure cane juice, litchi, then in the mid-palate, it is surprisingly silky, there are agricole, vegetal notes, some smokiness, a bit bitter and peppery. Quite balanced, but very strong. Goes nice as mixer. 7:The finish is medium, with sugar cane and spice, becomes more balanced.
