How does this rum taste?
Exception 2024 is a remarkably aged Guyanese rum crafted at the Enmore distillery and bottled by Famille Ricci. Our community praises its inviting aroma of prunes, oak, chocolate, and a hint of pineapple, while its palate unfolds layered flavors of barrel, oak, fruity notes, prunes, and caramel. Rum enthusiasts on RumX appreciate the unique, heavy wood character that gives it a distinct Enmore personality, balanced by a rich sweetness and a long, evolving finish. This authentic tasting journey, as described by many RumX members, makes Exception 2024 a must-try for those seeking both complexity and character in their fine spirits.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
#4922 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Round, balanced, complex, wood, light roasted, plum, light citrus, faint caramel, light chocolate. Palate Balance, complex, oily, smooth, dried fruit, wood, light roasted, faint nutts, faint medicinal, light caramel, faint chocolate, light citrus, prunes. Finish Long, complex, balanced, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, light citrus, faint caramel, prunes. This is a wonderful rum in good balance and not too woody. Needs a bit of time to really open up, but then you get what you pay for.
A rum tasted at Rhum Fest in 2024. A dark nose with prunes, old wood, pineapple and yellow fruit. The start of the palate is a mix of Enmore notes and fruit, then the wood takes over and invades the space. The finish is long but one-sided, on wood.
The nose is heavy with wood, roasted, dried fruits, burnt sugar The palate is mostly roasted/seasoned, woody and warm, a higher abv would have put more character, a very pleasant drink
