Another classic high ester Hampden, which is my favorite style out there. This one is the <>H mark and bottled at 68.5%. On the nose it’s quite nice. Prominent fruit and esters, mainly pineapple and banana foster dessert. Some solvents and glue mixed in there. The nose is quite sweet overall. On the palate this one is intense up front and then hits you with esters and grilled, overripe pineapple, some wood and a little bitterness on the finish. This has all the classic notes you expect (and hope) to find in a Hampden but the intensity makes this a bit less enjoyable than other bottling.
