Savanna Édition Restaurant Blanc Paris HERR 2009

Excellent HERR bottling. Not as brute as the HERR LMDW 60th, for example, but the strong fruit component provides a nice counterpoint to the high ester associations. "Accessible" and yet multi-layered HERR.

After tasting it for over 40 minutes, I can quite understand why this rum was chosen in a starred restaurant in Paris... For a grand arome savanna, this one is really elegant and full-bodied. The typical aromas of strawberry and pineapple are complemented by rich, juicy blackberries, vanilla pulp, green Granny Smith apple and candied ginger. The alcohol is incredibly well integrated, the 15 years in the cask do not interfere at any point and overall this is really a very tasty drop and gives hope for more great grand arome rums from Savanna! Great cinema! In a direct comparison with the Swell Herrline 2009, it definitely has the edge for me!

Post-tasting Masterclass Savanna high Ester. Wow, the HERR blanc Paris belongs to the world class of rums for me. Great nose, esters, tropical fruits, but strawberry is also recognizable. On the palate too, this rum is very funky. Many thanks to the RumX team and Sam Pitarch for allowing me to be part of this masterclass.

Savanna Masterclass by RumX on 27.09.2024 Thank you for the opportunity to taste these great rums side by side. Now there have been a few more changes for some. Savanna is more complex than expected. So how to start with this rum? Not the mega complex one, but Mr. in his deepest pure form! I would compare it to grandma's fancy noodles, a simple dish that neither the mother nor the wife can manage, even though it is a simple dish without much blingbling. It's the same with rum. For me, it's the perfection of strawberry Hubabubba with Wickblau sweets. I don't think it gets any better than that.

Very exclusive and breathtaking Savanna, which is unfortunately only available in small quantities. Very complex and a very nice interplay between fruit and barrel influences. For me, ester is not in the foreground here but complements the rum perfectly.

RumX Savanna Masterclass 27.09.24: Wir auch der HERRLINE sehr fruchtig in der Nase, hier noch mit einer spritzigen grüner Apfelnote und leichter Ingwerschärfe. Im Mund geht es wieder genauso weiter, super frisch und angenehm. Hammer teil, vielleicht der beste Savanna den ich bisher im Glas hatte.

Savanna Masterclass High Ester: This HERR is a real highlight... it has a continuous elegance, although it is not stingy with esters, strawberry gummy bears and gentle spices. The alcohol is perfectly integrated and carries the aromas on the palate for a long time. More of this please

A great gentleman. Classic profile, but very accessible and round. Incredibly filigree and at the same time sweet profile, although the esters naturally have enough power.

Aged HERR, simply amazing to me. Would love to have a daiquiri with it 😅

Little Savanna GA & HERR cross tasting: Very fruity on the nose. Intense and to die for. Way more elegant and better balanced compared to the LMDW. Excellent on the palate as well. The balance between esters, fruits, wood and some herbal notes is truely amazing here. I can absolutely see this alongside top notch cuisine.

Savanna high ester tasting. A nose of obvious elegance. An instant classic. The distillery's hallmarks are there, but coated and magnified. The alcohol is perfect on the palate, just present to enhance the aromas of menthol, red fruits and bitter herbs. The finish is very long, with just the right amount of bitters, esters, red fruit and sandalwood. A real success!

Complexity and balance in top form. Roasted barley here too, awesome. Strawberry, somewhat tart, subtle light blue cheese notes. Esters are very exquisitely present and integrated, great! Very nice body and I particularly like the finish.

Lordly and unique! These gentlemen are really special rums. You can't drink them every day, but they're great fun!

This Savanna is also right at the top. The nose is simply super intense, fruity and picks me up completely. The palate is also simply a firework of aromas. Everything you would expect from a top HERR. Alcohol perfectly integrated. Unfortunately, the price is not so affordable, so this will remain a sample.
