How does this rum taste?
This limited edition rum from Barbados, distilled at the renowned Foursquare Distillery and bottled by Compagnie des Indes, showcases a blend of pot and column distillates created from molasses. Aged for eight years, it offers a scent profile dominated by oak and orange, with a hint of coconut. With an ABV of 61.2%, its taste is intensely alcoholic and spicy, with undertones of honey and pepper. While it boasts a sweet, toffee-like start, users noted a sharp finish with wood and bitter tones. Overall, it’s a strong, aromatic rum that some found overpowering, while others appreciated its distinct character.

Alcohol not well integrated.
sehr röstig, speckiger Foursquare! die typischen Banane Kokos und Nuss Noten sind eher im Hintergrund. dem hätte vermutlich noch etwas länger im Fass gut getan, alkohol könnte deutlich besser integriert sein. schmeckt auch etwas verbrannt und bitter hintenraus. nicht unbedingt einer der besseren foursquares...
an der Nase eher flach und unangenehm stechend, am Gaumen Kokosnuss, das beste ist eigentlich der Abgang mit einer leckeren Nutella-Note. Haut einen insgesamt aber nicht vom Hocker.
Zum Glück ein kurzer Abgang. Nicht nur eine stechende Nase auch im Mund mehr alkoholisch als sonst was, entsprechend können sich Fruchtnoten und anderes nicht wirklich entfalten. Würde der Alkohol hier (auch nach längerer Standzeit) nicht so in der Nase brennen und die Zunge geradezu betäubt werden, hätte was aus ihm werden können.
