Introducing the Guadeloupe #16, a unique rum from the Bonne Mère distillery in Guadeloupe. Hand-selected by independent bottler Transcontinental Rum Line, this limited release of only 6384 bottles was distilled in 2013 using a Column Still with sugar cane juice and aged for 4 years, boasting an ABV of 43%. RumX users are tantalized by its aromatic notes of banana, grapes, prunes, Mirabelle plum, and brown sugar. On the palate, they experience a delightful fusion of yellow fruits, vanilla, cinnamon, banana, and young wood. Described as elegant and light, this rum bears a similarity to aged gin and would have made a stronger impact at a higher ABV.

„Straightforward agricole notes on the nose. Immediately you get fresh and toasted banana that will persist all the way to the finish, as well as very nice lightly smoky chamomile tea. The nose is rounded off by some squashed grapes, salty seawater and woody juniper berries. The palate is very much alike. Again toasted banana and the chamomile with some sweet, juicy apples mixed in. It’s all very elegant and light. Almost like an aged gin. Quite interesting to see the smoky wood notes sourced from juniper and chamomile. Unfortunately you can taste the overdilution. It’s a lovely rum, that would have been much stronger at higher ABV.“
