How does this rum taste?
Guadeloupe #16" is a distinctive rum from the Bonne Mère distillery, bottled by Transcontinental Rum Line. Distilled in 2013 from sugar cane juice using a column still, this rum offers a complex aroma profile featuring banana, prunes, and mirabelle plum. On the palate, hints of vanilla, cinnamon, and yellow fruits emerge, complemented by subtle young wood notes. It provides an elegant, creamy texture reminiscent of an aged gin but is occasionally critiqued for its seeming overdilution. Good rum, but it still lacks something to go up.
I tried this one in a bar in Posen. Very delicious daily driver!
Oh well these transcontinental rum line runs, especially the early iterations, really know how to hit the marque for what they cost. This one is really what I want from a cheapish Guadeloupe rum. Very solid
