How does this rum taste?
The Compagnie des Indes Fiji 2004 is a limited edition rum with only 289 bottles, distilled at South Pacific Distillery. Aged for 10 years with an ABV of 44%, this rum is celebrated for its complex fruity and tropical notes, with hints of sweetness from raisins and caramel. Although not typically characteristic of Fijian rums, it has a profile that includes woody, spicy, and nutty undertones. Guter Rum, der geschmacklich etwas dünn daher kommt. In Fassstärke wohl etwas besser, aber schöne Fruchtigkeit. Für meinen Geschmack etwas wenig typische Fiji-Charakteristik, aber alles in allem sehr guter Rum.
28.03.2015 Whiskymessen Out for myself this time and met up with new enthusiasts and we had a great party after the event. Notes Light to medium dark in colour. Nose Light wood and roasted notes, light coconut, citrus, light grass, clove. Palate Fresh, spicy, light wood, faint smoke, light coconut, floral, sweet, clove, fruits, faint malt. Finish Medium long, wood, light roasted, spice, warm, fruits.
Un joli nez floral fruité et le tout dans la douceur de la réglisse... Un bon moment en préparation? Une bouche complexe florale épicée servie par un degré alcoolique bien dosé... Une fin moyenne courte qui laisse la douceur de la mélasse. N'hésitez pas à faire revenir les arômes dans le nez... Celà intensifie cette caractéristique de mélasse... Un très bon Rhum qui vous invite aux Fidjis et aux voyages
Nase: Getrocknete Früchte wie Rosinen mit schokoladigen Aromen und süßlichen Tendenzen, Karamell. Gaumen: Der Rum weiß mit nussigen und schokoladigen Aromen zu verwöhnen. Deutlich süß mit würzigen Beiklängen. Abgang: Getrocknete Früchte, leicht holzig. Fazit: Gefälliger Rum mit deutlich süßen Tendenzen.
