Bristol Caroni HTR 1995 20yr 63,1%
The "HTR" is a unique rum produced at the Caroni distillery in Trinidad and bottled by Bristol Classic Rum. Distilled in 1995 from molasses using a Column Still, it is then aged for 20 years and presented at a strong ABV of 63.1%. Limited to only 250 bottles, this rum features a blend of woody, roasted, fruity, and caramel notes on the nose, with flavors of wood, burnt, rubber, overripe fruits, and a hint of Guyana aromas on the palate. Users appreciate the untypical Caroni style and a perfect balance of alcohol, although some found an unusual note of sandalwood and shaving foam in the finish. Overall, it is a highly praised and sought-after rum that is definitely worth tasting for rum enthusiasts.

“Very atypical Caroni. Really cool mix of Caroni and Guyana flavors!”

“This is not your typical Caroni. Very light in the traditional flavours but I do like that they didn't water it down like usual. Fruity with nice roasted notes and wood as well as an overripe fruit basket.”

“It builds nicely at the start: Typical Caroni notes, plus dark chocolate and perfectly dosed alcohol pushes well. Then in the finish suddenly a significantly disturbing and conspicuous, I have not encountered in any other Caroni, missing note with shaving foam or aftershave and sandalwood. I like this aftershave/shaving cream smell a lot on the skin, but not as a flavor in a rum. Here this note does not fit at all for my taste.”
