This was one of the highlights for me at the 13. GRF!! Unknown australian distillery, white rum with perfect integration of alcohol and a remarkable taste of strawberry, yoghurt (reminds me on Yoghurette), ester, caramel! I wish to post now the meme of McMahon 😜 Very cool :3 It will make a delicious daiquiri😬
Wow, what's that? Fermented fruit such as strawberries and plums, but also fruit from the orchard and a strong creaminess reminiscent of yoghurt with fruit. The acidity even builds noticeably over the next few moments. Behind this, lemon peel and a subtle herbaceousness emerge. Fermented strawberries, a few herbs and then metallic aromas on the palate. The acidity of the nose is less noticeable on the palate, but there is a nice creamy/oily mouthfeel. Tastes like a Savanna HERR light. The next day you can clearly smell the fermented aromas in the glass.
The first rum I tried at the 13th GRF (Opening Party), and it was a hit! I'll just say: savanna galore. At least that's what you think when you first smell it. Alcohol very well integrated. Great light rum from an Australian distillery I've never heard of before for relatively little money. A real Savanna would be at least twice as expensive.
To be honest, I would never have thought of Australia blind. At first I immediately had an association with the Lord. For the price, I think it's a nobrainer that I'll definitely buy a bottle or two of to make daiquiris with.
