Perola Saint James Bellamy‘s Reserve Martinique (Pear Cask Finish) 2024
Most enjoy the clear pear, honey and sugarcane profile, calling it round, creamy and great value. Critics find it a bit young and unspectacular. Consensus: a fun, solid experiment.
Curious explorers wanting an easy first step into agricole, especially those who enjoy fruity, not-too-sweet rums and like experimenting with cocktails such as Donga Punch.

How does this rum taste?
Fruity, pear‑driven beginner agricole
If you like fruity, easy-drinking rums and are agricole-curious, this gives you real cane-juice character with a fun pear twist, without the high-ester intensity or high ABV.
Those wanting very aged, complex sippers or who dislike grassy agricole notes and noticeable wood on a relatively young rum.
A successful experiment, in my opinion, which has not produced a top-class rum, but one that simply tastes good and is easy to drink due to the ABV and also has its own unique aromas. It is complex without being overpowering. And the price is very good in my opinion.

Quite interesting young rum from Saint James, Martinique. Considering the age and most importantly ABV, I was very positively surprised by the intensity of flavours. The profile is quite fruity, woody, with classic agricole notes standing out mostly in the finish. I'll definitely want to taste it again.
Great value for money.
