How does this rum taste?
The Veneragua Rum, bottled by Compagnie des Indes, is a unique blend combining Venezuelan (60%) and Nicaraguan (40%) rums. Distilled in 2005 from molasses using a column still and aged for 13 years, this limited release of 1911 bottles holds an ABV of 45%. It presents a fragrant aroma of caramel, vanilla, and sweet notes, complemented by subtle pear and nutty undertones. On the palate, it is characterized by flavors of toffee, sweet tobacco, caramel, and vanilla. Users appreciate its balance and smoothness, making it an accessible choice for those exploring pure, non-sugar-laden rums. This rum stands out for its simplicity and excellent value, offering a satisfying experience without complex or aggressive notes.

This is a really nice rum from CDI blended from Venezuelan and Nicaraguan rum (60% Venezuela and 40% Nicaragua). A wonderful herbal and spice nose once rested going into a silky light palate with a nice but short finish. This is an easy to drink rum without all the whistles and bells of a high proof or super complex taste. The price tag is very good compared to the quality.
Doux et suave en bouche sans avoir l’impression de trop de sucre. Excellent surprise. Je ne vais pas hésiter à en racheter une à l’occasion.
Rhum sans prétention et de très bon rapport qualité prix. Ça passe tout seul. Grosse dominance de la vanille et du caramel. Final cuir et tabac blond. Très bon
Farbe: Bernstein Geruch: Süß und frisch, dominiert von Karamell, Fudge und Toffee Aromen. Aber auch fruchtig (Birne) und nussig. Geschmack Süß und vollmundig mit viel Toffee zu Beginn, dann dominieren Kaffee Aromen. Leicht würzig pfeffrig mit Lakritz. Zudem etwas Tabak und Leder. Abgang: Kurz bis mittellang, trocken, dominiert von Tabak und Leder-Aromen. Holzig und leicht bitter im Abgang. Fazit: Gewiss kein Highlight, aber ein gefälliger Rum, der sich gut trinken lässt.
