How does this rum taste?
- Intense tropical fruit aroma
- Strong ester presence
- Vibrant taste profile
The Hampden (Alter Ego) <>H is a limited edition Jamaican rum distilled in 2014 at the Hampden distillery and bottled by Zéro Nine Spirits. Aged for 10 years and bottled at cask strength of 61.1% ABV, this rum is notable for its strong ester and tropical fruit aromas, with prominent notes of pineapple and young wood. While it showcases typical Hampden characteristics such as ripe tropical flavors and ester dominance, some users find its alcoholic presence and complexity less refined than other releases. Nonetheless, it delivers a vibrant taste experience, appreciated for its unique aromas and tropical flavor profile, though not all agree it rivals previous <>H editions.

"First impression when filling the sampel is unfortunately not so impressive. I would now put it behind the CoR, WuDram and others. But I'll taste it again when it's less hectic. It was also a little too alcoholic for me."
"Glue, nail polish remover, esters and solvents dominate the nose. In direct comparison with the WDC, it seems younger, more restless and lacks a little power on the palate. For me, not a top representative of the <>h from 2013/2014."
