“Was long my Fiji reference - the 2009 is after 2001 so far de best vintage. Still a top rum - the IdR 2001 is only slightly better. The tropical fruits that you sometimes find has this one except for a present banana and a hint of lemon less, but he is strong on the vegetable side and the typical rubber or wetsuit-like is super integrated: dissolved in solvent biowaste. Overall, for me, Fijis are often stronger in the mouth than in the nose. Here, the nose is already expressive without the risk of confusion with Jamaica. The herbal is also quite different from an Agricole, more fermented, rotting than fresh, grassy. The resinous herbs from the finish linger for a long time.”

“What a lovely rum. Very close to the typical flavours of Fiji actually. Fruity and warm with some nuty wood and very light spices. The finish is long with plastic/rubber in the background. A pretty complex rum in my mind and may may not like it.”

“On the nose, the alcohol is quite present. But then buttery soft on the palate. The great taste evaporates, however, quite quickly in the finish. The bottom line is still a very good rum!”
