How does this rum taste?
- Bold tar and barrel notes
- Typical Caroni profile
- Rarity with 264 bottles
The Rum Artesanal Trinidad Rum HTR is a limited edition from the Caroni distillery, known for its tar, minty, and dirty nose. Distilled in 1998 and aged for 26 years, this spirit captures the signature Caroni character with tar and barrel dominance, complemented by subtle fruity undertones. With a robust 63.4% ABV, it offers an intense tasting experience, characterized by dry and smoky nuances. This release boasts only 264 bottles, ensuring rarity. Despite its solid embodiment of Caroni's profile, some reviewers note a lack of complexity and balance. Ideal for connoisseurs seeking a bold rum with a strong tar presence, although it might not satisfy those expecting a multifaceted palate.

To Caroni
"And another continental '98 Caroni. Nice piece, contains the typical notes known from this non-tropical vintage. Personally, far too one-dimensional and meaningless for me. Somehow something is missing here. In short, when you swallow it, you can count down from 10 and then the experience is already over. There are better wines from this vintage."
"GRF13: This is a Caroni that plays the field more on the dirty side. I still like the nose best, as at least there is still a noticeable amount of fruit there. 8.6 It loses something on the palate. It's not complex enough for me and the alcohol is not particularly well integrated. 8.2 The finish is ultimately far too short for a Caroni. A pretty good entry-level Caroni."
