How does this rum taste?
What stands out most in the reviews of Habitation Velier's Last Ward is its fresh, minty twist—many describe an unexpected herbaceous and medicinal edge that sets it apart from standard Mount Gay releases. Vanilla and caramel flavors join elements like roasted wood, glue, and citrus, with a dry, long finish and solid power at 59% ABV. Most enjoy it neat and recommend letting it breathe, while fans love the complexity and unique Bajan profile. Strong ratings and the limited release make it a top pick for those looking for something distinctive from Barbados.

Unusual Mount Gay. Very nice mint - almost reminiscent of a TDL.
It didn't blow me away, but I found the burn finish interesting. A little unbalanced the alcohol integration.
A rock-solid rum, but in my opinion it lacks almost any enthusiasm. Spices, herbs, wood, a little caramel sweetness and a present smoky note are recognizable, and there is also a little fruitiness.
To round off the Whitsun weekend, a little mount gay last ward comparison. Both are very similar, but the nuances are different. In the back of my mind, both remind me a little of T.D.L's. For me it's a neck and neck race, although I would prefer the RX190 due to the better P/L ratio.
