How does this rum taste?
RumX members love this Last Ward’s unusual minty-herbal freshness layered over classic Mount Gay vanilla, caramel and orange-peel aromas. On the palate, fruity citrus and tropical notes meet roasted wood and a touch of smoke, with menthol and medicinal hints that fade as it breathes. Often enjoyed neat after a good rest—or with a splash of water. With 110 community reviews, it’s a popular limited-release sipper.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Unusual Mount Gay. Very nice mint - almost reminiscent of a TDL.
It didn't blow me away, but I found the burn finish interesting. A little unbalanced the alcohol integration.
A rock-solid rum, but in my opinion it lacks almost any enthusiasm. Spices, herbs, wood, a little caramel sweetness and a present smoky note are recognizable, and there is also a little fruitiness.
To round off the Whitsun weekend, a little mount gay last ward comparison. Both are very similar, but the nuances are different. In the back of my mind, both remind me a little of T.D.L's. For me it's a neck and neck race, although I would prefer the RX190 due to the better P/L ratio.
