Tasted this rum at the hotel bar in Le Gosier during my recent visit to Guadeloupe as well as at the distillery and I had to buy me bottle to take home. This vintage 2017 Brut de Fut is aged for six years in ex-bourbon barrels. I really like their rather new Brut de Fut releases as a compliment to their regular range that nowadays are editions instead of vintage rum as it was earlier. The nose is complex, balanced, fresh, sweet, flowery, woody and fruity with scents of gingerbread, sugarcane, citrus but also hints of smoke and nuts. At the palate it’s complex, balanced, round, soft, fresh, woody, sweet and fruity with flavors of honey, sugarcane, caramel, mango and lemon. The finish is rather long.
Notes issues du Whisky Live Paris 2024 - à revoir et approfondir. J'ai préféré papoté que prendre des notes, mais vraiment pour moi, le premier Montebello qui me fait vibrer :) Surement l'effet brut de fut.
