    How does this rum taste?

The Guyana Rum (1st Release) MDS, bottled by Rumbuddy, is crafted at the Diamond Distillery and distilled in 2008 from molasses. This 15-year-aged rum is released in a limited quantity of 218 bottles at cask strength with an ABV of 62.1%. Users praise its complex bouquet of prunes, dried fruit, burnt sugar, and roasted malt. On the palate, it delivers intense flavors of dark chocolate, tobacco, licorice, complemented by menthol and woody undertones. While the alcohol presence is noticeable, the rum's depth, combining sweet and bitter notes with its oily texture, is favored by many.

    Top 36% Diamond

This rum has everything that makes a good Diamond in the under 100 EUR segment. Chocolate, coffee, wood, malt, a little sweetness, a little bitterness. The finish is strong but relatively short, the alcohol is quite well integrated. I'm guessing that MDS is the marque and therefore have to compare the rum with the Diamond 2008 from Spirit of Rum (RX16020). The 1st release (!) from Rumbuddy is certainly a palatable PLV cracker. By the way: I don't like the Diamond SV 2008 from Nobilis (RX18069) tasted at the same time quite as much, it's more on the herbal side.
