How does this rum taste?
- Rich, complex flavor profile
- Excellent price-to-value ratio
- Full-bodied with lingering finish
The "Guyana Rum 2003" from the Diamond Distillery, bottled by Our Rum & Spirits, offers a bold taste profile reminiscent of dark sugar, caramel, and raisins. This limited edition rum, aged for 14 years, delivers complex flavors of spice and wood with a well-integrated alcohol presence. Users highlight its rich, full-bodied character with lingering notes of chocolate and leather. The strong ABV of 64.5% gives it a noticeable but not overwhelming alcoholic warmth. While praised for its excellent price-to-value ratio and distinct Guyanese characteristics, some reviewers find the robustness to occasionally overpower subtler notes. The rum's uniqueness and scarcity make it a sought-after choice for enthusiasts seeking depth and intensity.

"Blind tasting. Nice maltiness on the nose at first, thought of a REV 1994 at first, but the impression quickly faded, so I guessed a Diamond, perhaps from 2002. The alcohol is very well integrated, you can taste a whole bunch of herbs, as well as strong eucalyptus. Although objectively certainly a very good rum at an incredible PLV, I somehow found it difficult to finish the sample. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea."

"Geiles Teil.
