How does this rum taste?
RumX members praise its dry, oaky character with inviting vanilla and caramel on the nose, balanced by spice and dried fruit. The palate is light yet well‑structured, with oak and vanilla leading to a medium‑long, smooth finish. Often enjoyed neat—some pair it with a cigar. A popular pick with 66 reviews and buyer confidence; value and approachability stand out, though a few note slight thinness or a peppery bite.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 260,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

The molasses is bought from Dom.Rep. and Guyana. After distillation it’s aged in former bourbon barrels of American oak, which are charred, for between 10 and 25 years. To enhance the oak taste is a handful of oak chips added to each barrel. In my opinion is it a great rum that overall is very dry and oaky.
Taking into account the price this is a cut above most other rums in this part of the market. There is a sour note that annoys me a bit, reminds me of a cognac cask more than the bourbon casks that have been used.
All my Tastings and Scores are purely based on “Rums under £50”. I rarely look at Rums over £50 for my YouTube.
