How does this rum taste?
The Finest Demerara Rum, distilled in 1988 at Guyana’s Enmore distillery and bottled by Bristol Classic Rum, offers a deep, complex profile after 30 years of maturation. With an ABV of 46.5%, this rum gives prominent aromas of raisin, tobacco, and oak, followed by subtle hints of vanilla and spices. The palate reveals leather, woody, and dried fruit notes, complemented by roasted flavors and a dry finish. Users praise its rich and layered characteristics but note occasional bitterness and a less substantial finish.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Having been invited to a friends today for an early tasting of some of his demerara collection.
It should have been a comfortable strength, but it wasn't. little disappointed
This is so thick you have to chew it. Dark, musty where the many years in oak comes thru. Unfortunately the finish is too short.
Everything fine and typical for an Enmore of this vintage until the finish where i can feel the wood a bit too much. A clear bitter and musty note (tannins, burnt sugar and wet wood) that you can get used to after the 3rd sip ;)
