How does this rum taste?
Barbieri Vecchio Rum Jamaica, distilled from molasses, presents a unique profile from Jamaica. It offers a floral and fruity aroma with hints of herbs, honey, and mirabelle plum, while the taste is dominated by notes of caramel, honey, and subtle spices with a touch of yellow fruits and woodiness. Users have noted both its nostalgic and rare qualities, but some described a hint of plastic, possibly akin to old Sherry casks. With a 40% ABV, it reflects a lighter Jamaican style not typically associated with the region today. Despite mixed reviews, it's considered an intriguing piece of rum history.

An der Nase chemisch, kräutrige Noten wie bei Obstbränden. Im Geschmack dann leichter Honig, etwas Rauch, etwas Gummi. Gefällt mir aber gut. Leichter Stil der an verwässerte 86er Rockleys erinnert. Jamaica nicht zu erkennen. Hintenraus wird der Rum dann süß.
Nikis und Arturs Jamaikanische Aventurien Teil 2: Kurz etwas Honig, Gewürze, etwas wenig Geschmack.
An der Nase noch etwas ansprechender als am Gaumen. Noten überreifer Tropenfrüchte, allerdings im noch relativ gemässigten Spektrum, dazu Eindrücke der Fasslagerung. Am Gaumen wohl infolge der Verdünnung deutlich flacher. Insgesamt eher unspektakulär, wobei mich das Gefühl nicht loslässt, dass bei dieser Abfüllung mit höherer Stärke mehr möglich gewesen wäre.
Riecht sehr stark nach einem Obstler. Irgendwas zwischen Mirabelle und Kirschbrand. Am Gaumen ist das komplett weg und er wird sehr süß. Schön ist, dass diese Süße im Abgang noch sehr lange anhalten darf.
