Dégustation de quatre rhums du dix-neuvième siècle. Un nez de très vieux cigare cubain avec des fruits tropicaux (banane et ananas) et un boisé assez marqué. L’entrée de bouche est acqueuse, hélas très diluée. Le rhum est nettement trouble et n’est sans doute pas au top de sa forme. Beaucoup de bois ici aussi. La finale est très courte, on sent l’alcool, on ne le sentait pas avant. Un rhum avec un assez joli nez, mais décevant en bouche, oxydé sans doute à cause d’un bouchon légèrement perméable. Pour la note, il ne vaut pas beaucoup plus que 5,5 mais difficile de donner une si mauvaise note à un rhum si ancien.
Just from the looks this rum isn't in the best shape of it's life. There is a simple but nice nose of tobacco licorice and tannins. Unfortunately this falls apart on the palate. Just the residue of a cask long gone, watery and then disappearing in the palate. There maybe was a nice rom there long ago, but alas it is gone
