“Update: After having had this bottle open for about a year and tasting it again I’m astonished to find that it is far better now than when freshly opened. Basically I get it now, it’s really quite good for the age and it’s amazing how the taste changes for the better in an open bottle. There seems to be an incredible development potential in the rums from this brand. I think Bally rums need a tremendous amount of age on them to really come into their own. When fresh from breaking the seal there’s a clayish dry quality to the taste that is just disagreeable but give it some months open and it matures beautifully.”

“A very nice rum despite it being as young as it is. Typical Agricole again with the vegetal notes, fruity and lovely spices. There is a hint of chocolate which is clearer once the glass has been standing for an hour after emptying. Price to quality is very good.”
