How does this rum taste?
The Private Cask Selection from Nickolls & Perks is a 15-year-old Barbadian rum distilled at the renowned Foursquare Distillery. Crafted from molasses using both pot and column stills, this rum boasts a robust 58% ABV. Limited to just 1800 bottles, it offers complex aromas of fruity and dried fruit notes, with hints of nutty vanilla and varnish. Users praise its traditional Foursquare profile, featuring flavors of cherry, dried fruit, leather, and tobacco. Despite its high alcohol content, it mellows with time, revealing a balanced and familiar Foursquare experience.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 260,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

Almost at the end with the samples I brought to Turkey. This one has a fullness in the nose. Fruity sensation with dried fruits as well, some varnish and nuts. In the notes I got dried fruits, cherry, leather and an oaky end
Wow! I am very pleasantly surprised! Without a special finish, this rum reaches a very high level. Intense chocolaty, tropical notes, light orange, caramel, vanilla.
In comparison, two bottlings from the Private Cask Selection. Both have the usual high, typical Foursquare profile that you can rely on as always. However, they do not stand out from other PCS or ECS bottlings. Solid bottlings as usual.
A good quality Foursquare that delivers what it promises. No outliers at the top or bottom, does not stand out particularly from other bottlings, a typical representative from Seale. On the nose, the aromas of prune and port are expansive at first, then Barbados on the tongue as you would expect.
