How does this rum taste?
The POP’ Series N°1 by Inter Caves France is a limited-release Jamaican rum from the Hampden distillery, selected by Swell de Spirits. Distilled in 2012 and aged for 11 years, this cask-strength rum offers a complex profile with prominent notes of banana, pineapple, and tropical fruit, backed by vanilla and esters. On the palate, pineapple and licorice stand out against woody and olive undertones. Notably low in ester, it surprises with its blend of fruit and subtle spice, attracting both newcomers and loyal enthusiasts. Some find the finish short but appreciate its layered, evolving character. While its alcohol content is high, experienced drinkers enjoy exploring its subtleties. Perfect for adventurous drinkers, this exclusive release comprises only 318 bottles, making it a collector's gem.

Nose of white fruit, apple and pear. Quite surprising for a hampden. An idea of tarte tatin. Completely enchanting on the palate, quite unexpected from the nose. Seems to fill out everything up to the nose, we find a little of the hampden funk but on less exotic fruit (still white fruit, apple and pear) and a little floral. Quite tannic, the barrel then arrives, still with a tarte tatin feeling. The finish is a little short, which is a pity!
A real chameleon, initially the nose was kind of strange and the palate ok. After some time the nose opened up really nice with some spices, wood and a subtle funkiness. The palate on the other hand got a little bit too bitter and astringent for my liking. Some fruits are also missing. Oh and I recommend a few drops of water to soften it a bit. Overall it’s nice but also a skippable release..
