The "Montebello L‘Exception" was produced in Guadeloupe at the Carrere distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Famille Ricci. It was distilled in 1998 from Molasses and sugar cane juice and then aged for 24 years. The rum has an ABV of 43%. "An sich sehr schön balanciert, am Gaumen leider etwas zu flach, was auch an der reduzierter Stärke liegt. Der Rum wirkt mitunter etwas verwässert, wobei die reduzierte Stärke durchaus auch ein paar zusätzliche Noten hervorkitzelt. Die Komplexität bleibt leider etwas auf der Strecke, insgesamt bleibt es aber bei einem gelungenen Release."
