Tasted at the incredible Rum Bar Room in Tokyo (September 2024). Decided to end the night with a flight of 3 Caroni rums. On the nose, this one presented like a classic Caroni at first - with petrol and very little sweetness. Given a short time to breathe, it started to show its elegance and complexity - caramel sweetness, a freshness, petrol and chocolate. On the palate, there is almost a candied sweetness, rich fruit, hints of leather and smoke to go along with some classic notes. Very suave, complex and delicate for a Caroni. Very enjoyable rum and one of the standouts of the incredible night.
