How does this rum taste?
The Naga 12 Years (Thailand Siam Edition) is an Indonesian rum known for its exotic and refined flavor profile. Distilled at the Naga distillery and aged for 12 years, this rum presents a woody aroma with notes of vanilla and butterscotch. The palate follows with woody, caramelized flavors and hints of vanilla and tobacco, often described as harmonious yet lacking complexity. While its finish is generally seen as agreeable, the rum also includes subtle spiced accents. User impressions highlight the rum's long, sweetly spiced finish. However, some reviews mention that it can be perceived as dry, herbal, or lacking complexity.

Naga 12 ans rum is very easy to grasp. Wood and caramel dominate from the nose to the finish. Sweet spices make a discreet appearance. Despite the fact that it lacks a little complexity, this is a very pleasant rum indeed.
I thought the calendar said Siam 10yo again, but I was wrong😃 Anyway, this one is an order of magnitude worse because it's too sweet for me. A big shame not only with this rum but a lot of others. I would love to try the unsweetened version but just unfortunately.
The wood from the barrel is particularly prominent here. At first, there is a hint of glue. The creamy, caramel notes remind me very much of Venezuelan rum. Earthy and a little dusty on the palate.
24 Days of Rum 2024 - Black Edition - Day 05 First impression: earthy, woody Nose: the fruity impression fades quickly Palate: earthy, dry, wood, astringent Finish: medium short, unfortunately only old barrel remains at the end Overall impression: irritating, dry, lots of barrel, flavors quickly gone - not my rum
