- Aromatic woody and vanilla notes
- Balanced sweetness
- Smooth palate
The Guyana Single Estate XO from Cane Island is a distinguished rum produced by Demerara Distillers Ltd in Guyana. Utilizing molasses distilled with both pot and column stills, this rum embodies the depth of Guyanese heritage. Aromatic notes of wood, vanilla, and honey complement a chocolatey, caramel, and oak-forward palate. Although some users mention a sharp alcoholic presence, others appreciate its smoothness and balance. Its 43% ABV suits both sipping and mixing, with notable hints of dark chocolate and nougat. While some find it unspecific, others praise its authentic sweetness without artificial overtones. Ideal for both exploratory and seasoned rum enthusiasts.

"Time to finish up the 1423 Christmas calendar "24 days of rum". This one had some oak and spicyness in the nose to me, and some spice hints of dried fruit and an oily mouthfeel. I find the alcohol could have been better integrated"

"Doch ganz okay dieser Rum. Der erste Eindruck war relativ schlecht, aber der zweite und dritte Schluck haben meinen Eindruck klar verbessert. Dieser Rum hat eine leichte Schokoladen- und Karamellnote. Ganz ok."

"Very caramelly/roasted in the nose (Diamond SV?). In taste a bit more fruityness and florality. A bit middle of the road demerara but still tasty enough."
