William Hinton 5 Casks Edition (24 Days Of Rum Advent Calendar 2023) 2018
Fans praise the dry, woody agricole character and winey cask twist; critics find it too bitter, thin and standard. Consensus: an interesting but uneven mid-tier Madeira agricole.
Curious explorers who like dry, woody agricoles with a wine/port cask spin and don’t mind a bit of tannic bitterness over sweetness.

How does this rum taste?
Dry, woody, wine-touched Madeira agricole
If you enjoy dry, slightly rustic agricoles and are curious about winey cask influence, this is a fun calendar pour—just don’t expect a sweet, polished crowd-pleaser.
Those wanting sweet, soft beginner rums or anyone who dislikes grassy/agricole notes and bitter, tannic wood on the finish.

Like the previous rum, this one is also okay but just standard. It tastes slightly of vanilla and caramel, but only slightly. Otherwise it tends towards agricole. I like that kind of thing.
Auto-translatedGood smell. Some wood. Some age. Agricole. So far so good. Taste, well balanced. Hay. Dry. Some spices: cardemom and ginger. Wood. Pretty nice. I am enjoying this and its a step up compared to the 3 year old.
Gar nicht schlecht! Typischer Madeira-Rhum!
Sample no.11 of the 24 days of rum calendar 2023. Nose could have fooled me this was a winetasting :) but yes very much wine and port from the barrels. Palate is a blend of agricole flavours together with the wine/port notes. Unique and not that bad for an agricole rum (not my favourites..)
