How does this rum taste?
Hardcore minty T.D.L. experience
If you’re into the classic minty 2003 T.D.L. style (CDI, TWJ, etc.), this is a wilder, more herbal, woodier take that many enthusiasts find intensely characterful.
Those sensitive to high ABV, seeking sweet vanilla-forward sippers, or who dislike dominant mint/menthol and tannic, woody, slightly bitter finishes.

The full load of menthol/mint is present here. 👍🏻An The nose also reveals wonderful fruity aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries and sour cherries. On the palate, there is an initial sweetness of dark caramel before the fresh menthol note appears again, paired with dark berries. Spicy aromas then appear. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is on the minty, herbal side... A very good bottling
Auto-translatedRather bleak on the nose tbh. I get some menthol and woody/ leathery notes but all in all there is comparatively little going on on the nose. On the palate also very wood forwards and dry. Black tea and leather. This tastes quite old. Mint shows up on the finish which is long and nice. Still this bottling doesn’t really speak to me today like some other 2003 bottlings in the lineup.
Not quite my cup of tea. Lots of mint and menthol - but for me the (not so rich) fruits are too much on the dark berry side (cassis, blackberry) ... too little caramel, yellow fruits. Not my favorite TDL profile and not my favorite 2003
Auto-translatedInteresting nose, menthol, currants and menthol. A really wild mouth and finish, menthol, spice and pepper but light. Mouthwash and green pepper with a medium long finish. Unusual so can see people enjoying that but not to my taste
