It was distilled in 2011 from Molasses with a Column Still and then aged for 12 years. The rum has an ABV of 57%. Dégustation chez J. B. Labat. Un nez très fruité, banane, sucré brun, vanille et un net côté pâtissier. L’alcool est assez présent en entrée de bouche, puis les fruits et le sucre brun débarquent. Le bois et la le fût de bourbon sont assez discrets. La finale est plutôt courte avec du bois et du sucre brun. Les fruits ont presque disparu. Un rhum qui doit très bien s’accorder avec un cigare. Une très belle alternative aux rhums sucrés.
#4807 11.08.2024 Enjoying some samples at home. Nose Sweet, fruits, banana, spice, light, light chocolate, raisin. Palate Light, light oily, light wood, raisin, banana, light chocolate, faint coffee, faint nutts. Finish Medium long, round, light, light wood, light citrus, raisin, light nutts, faint chocolate. The empty glass has nice vanilla and light caramel.
Karamell, schokolade, fruchtig gummibären, konfekt, getrocknete früchte vanille. Wüsste man es nicht käme man nie darauf, dass es das selbe Produkt ist wie die Zacapas. Ein wenig Luft zu Beginn tut ihm gut, damit der Alkohol sich besser integriert. Holz ist eher im hintergrund. Frucht und Schokolade mit erdigen Noten sind im Vodergrund. Insgesamt wirkt er leicht und frisch für einen Mittelamerikaner. Geiles profil, das ich so nicht kannte.
Überraschend runder und süffiger aber dennoch charakterstarker Guatemala single cask. Intensive Noten nach gebackener Banane, Cappuccino und gerösteten leicht bitteren Haselnüssen. Einer der mir bis dato einzigen guten Guatemala Rums in Fassstärke!
