How does this rum taste?
The "Travellers (Pineau Finish)" rum, crafted in Belize at the Travellers distillery, boasts a rich profile defined by its 17-year aging process and cask strength of 64% ABV. Selected by Rum Shark, this limited edition features aromatic notes of wine, dark chocolate, and wood, offering a complex sensory journey. On the palate, it's characterized by vibrant dried fruit, chocolate, and woody tones with subtle berry interplays. User impressions vary slightly, highlighting its integration of alcohol and prominent sweet and roasted flavors, though some note a slight sharpness and sourness attributed to the Pineau finish. Esteemed for its long, warming finish, this bottle provides a rich, but diverse tasting experience for rum enthusiasts.

#4785 20.07.2024 Sampling a bit at home. Nose Light wood, faint roasted, light earthy, wine, sugarcane, berries. Palate Oily, light wood, berries, roasted, wine, light coffee, sugarcane. Finish Medium to long, warm, wood, roasted, dried fruit, light coffee. The empty glass has some chocolate, orange and light herbs.
8,2:On the nose, the first impression we get are yellow fruits, citrus and some roastedness. We find peaches, oranges, mandarine. When aired a bit, it turns to vegetal/herbal notes. The molasses become caramelized, as the sugar is burnt, the wood is spicy, filled with some wine tannins, there is some chocolate and after some rest, earthy, menthol is obvious after a while. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is fruity and spicy, oily, as we could taste some yellow, tropical fruits and citrus. The wood is roasted and dry, there are coffee and chocolate, nuts. We taste wine, out of it dried fruits. The molasses becomes caramelized after resting and the wood is resinous, there are vegetal notes and, of course, menthol. 8,4:The finish is long, woody, still resinous, dry, there are chocolate, roasted nuts, coffee. The fruits are dried and yellow. Very nice Belizean rum🙂....
Vůně opět příjemná, alkohol integrován mnohem lépe než u cognac bráchy, neštípe, závěr dlouhý a přijemný prohřeje až do bříška :-) příjemné belize, které si vždycky rád naleju, byť jsou od kluků z rums sharku povedenjší lahve :-)
OMG - that sour taste due to pineau
