- Honey and ester presence
Distilled in 1998 at Jamaica's Hampden Distillery, this rum was aged for 20 years and bottled by Alambic with an ABV of 45%. Limited to just 216 bottles, this HLCF-marked rum offers an aromatic nose with ester, vinegar, pineapple, lemon, and honey notes. "Very nice notes of tropical fruits, ester, nuts, honey and oak(barrel) in the nose. In mouth is more of a round, bitter, delicious but thin (body) mouth feeling. You’ ll find some notes of leather, nuts, oak, ester. The small finish is smooth and astringend with nots of vanilla and oak. All in all it’s a very nice rum, but it lacks in complexity, body and finish. It’s pleasant to drink!"

"Sufficiently aromatic on the nose despite dilution. Ester and vinegar first, then pineapple, gooseberry and lovely lemon. Behind it some honey but also very light wood.On the palate then but unfortunately a bit thin / diluted. Nevertheless tasty. Slightly metallic with licorice and vanilla and then somehow flat bacony with an umami nuance. Perhaps also a bit nutty in the direction of white almond. In the finish I have freshly cut, green branch with chamomile. The base is certainly good. If it were not diluted, we would have a much better drop here."
