Panama 10 Years 2015

I always like the classic Panama notes. Particularly present here with lots of vanilla. Milk chocolate, accompanied by dried fruit. The roasted/smoky aromas are clear on the palate. Too bad it's only 40%...

Very pleasant and balanced sweetness. Very fresh and light notes of fruit.

Today we had another tasting with a few surprises in store. Another good starter rum in my mind.

Heel zachte geur. Te zoet

Very good for introducing a novice to the world of rum. It's smooth (taste and alcohol) with warm choco/caramel notes. Very good value for money. Easily offered at the end of a meal.

Honey/Nectar I both nose and directly in taste. Short taste that ends in pure sugar with a note of artificial sweetener. A lot of people will probably like it, but it's not for me.

Really not a bad little sipper. It won’t supplant my preference for the drier Cubans and Puerto Ricans but I would finish this bottle if I bought it, which I won’t.

A rum from Panama that departs a little from the pure Hispanic tradition, with some slightly more developed aromas. The nose is sweet but quite varied, with floral and tobacco notes adding a little complexity to the classic spicy, caramelized notes. Fruit and chocolate are also present. On the palate, this is a sweet rum whose power has been toned down, but the woodiness is more perceptible than the usual sweet notes. The finish rests on spicy, vanilla notes, mainly with a hint of fruit. This is not a revolutionary rum, but it does offer a break with Hispanic tradition for the uninitiated.

Deutlich wahrnehmbare Süße, aber für den Einstieg in die Rum Welt gut geeignet.

Morbidissimo. La dolcezza (sin troppa) la fa da padrona ma nel complesso è piacevole al palato e beverino.
