I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
On The Rocks: On the nose moderate fruit balanced with mild caramel and oak with underlying sweetness with mild old dusty warehouse. Taste is smooth and nicely balanced with a spike or sweetness and short lived burn evolving into a more neutral mild oak and spice. Taste delivers on what you would expect from the aroma. Finish is medium as it changes from sweet to slightly bitter back to a mild sweet with the return of a mild burn. You can really tell the extra aging on this release as it is a well developed mature rum that is quite nice to sip. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose it is moderate musky old warehouse. Taste is slightly bitter musky old warehouse. Finish is short musky old warehouse. I don’t suggest drinking mixed at all unless you have a musky old warehouse fetish. Not enjoyable mixed.
