How does this rum taste?
The Jamaican Rum (Bottled for the Auld Alliance) LROK is a limited-edition release from the Hampden distillery, aged for 22 years. Distilled from molasses using a pot still, it boasts tropical fruit and overripe aromas dominated by pineapple and banana. The flavor continues these themes with notes of ester and barrel, underpinned by its 48.6% ABV. Reviewers from RumX highlighted the rum's authentic expression of Hampden's style, though opinions on its balance varied. It's a rare delight with only 219 bottles available, making it a must-try for collectors and enthusiasts seeking genuine Jamaican flair. This rum offers a nuanced sipping experience, capturing the heart of Caribbean distillation traditions.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Tasted by Marta at the Precious Liquors stand at GRF 2024. The typical characteristics of an LROK are clearly recognizable and it delivers what it should. The alcohol is not perceptible, which is probably due to the low ABV, which prevents it from achieving a higher rating. All in all, however, it is highly drinkable.
Salon Du Rhum 2024 Just pas this rum... Disappointing.
Trnava 11/2024
in the aroma of flambéed bananas with a condom there's a hint of Hampden in the taste, but it's quite clipped
