How does this rum taste?
RumX members highlight its sweet, candy-like profile: bubblegum, candied fruits and vanilla on the nose, with syrupy sweetness on the palate. Several note hints of coconut-chocolate, raisin and light wood. At 40% ABV it’s approachable, and some prefer it with cola. Others find the sweetness and menthol/artificial tones divisive. #5070 Friday 24.01.2025 - 26.01.2025 A nice weekend in my sisters summerhouse with old friends and colleagues tasting a lot of rums. I can only recommend like we did, no phones allowed and then only music in the background 😊 Colour Dark. Nose Light wood, sweet, light cherry, herbs, light sugarcane, faint smoke. Palate Sweet, light oily, light wood, sugarcane, dried fruit, spice, light licorice, light cherry. Finish Sweet, oily, wood, light smoke, light coffee, light anise, light herbs. Empty glass Sweet, dried fruit, sugarcane, gummibears, light caramel.
A real surprise for me. Really rich variety of aromas on the nose: very fruity, spicy, nutty, sweet. These continue on the palate and are joined by chocolate, caramel, coconut and a little wood - and is very fresh and light. The finish is a short splash that lingers pleasantly warm for a medium length of time. I like the complexity of the aromas.
The worst rum from the Advent calendar so far. It tastes relatively fruity, which is not to my taste. It certainly tastes very good mixed with cola as a long drink, but not quite as good on its own.
Weird artificial cherry lemonade smell. Like chartreuse too. Fruity but never natural fruity. Certainly unique. In taste...uhhmm fruit flavoured wodka or cheap fruit schnapps. This is no rum. Can't make anything of this. Whatever cheap lemonade you can find with cheap wodka. Bubblegum. Blegh. No no no.
