How does this rum taste?
The "Trinidad" from T.D.L distillery, selected and bottled by Compagnie des Indes, is a 10-year-old rum distilled in 2012 from molasses using a column still. Released as a limited edition featuring only 272 bottles, this rum is bottled at cask strength with an ABV of 63.1%. Tasting notes reveal prominent notes of caramel, young wood, and burnt sugar on the nose, with flavors of dried fruit, barrel, and honey on the palate. While users appreciate its rich, complex character, critiques mention a pronounced alcohol presence and less integration. It draws parallels to Spanish rum styles, making it a unique choice for enthusiasts.

7,8:On the nose, the first impression we get are roasted wood notes with burnt sugar, caramel, roasted nuts, a bit spicy, there is some vegetal molasses. At first there is almost no fruit, except citrus. We could also notice some metallic note. On aeration, dried and tropical fruits come out, toasted coconut, chocolate and menthol. 8,2:On the palate, the attack is fruity and woody with red, yellow fruits, roasted and spicy wood with sweet honey, candied caramel, then dried fruits and more medicinal notes like rubber and menthol, bitter with molasses. After resting the rum, fruits are tropical with kiwi, banana. There are also nuts, vanilla and burnt sugar, it becomes tasty and it is more round now. 8,1:The finish is long, more industrial like with bitter, dirty notes of rubber, waxes, plastic and tar, a bit mineral, woody with spice, vegetal molasses and tropical and dried fruits..
Sehr leckerer Rum.
