How does this rum taste?
- Unique whisky finish
- Complex flavor profile
- Pleasant woody aroma
HSE The Beauty and the Beast Finish Kilchoman is a distinctive rum from Martinique, aged for over five years. It offers a complex nose with prominent woody notes, vanilla, and hints of bitter orange, chocolate, and peat. The palate reveals a robust woodiness complemented by spice, minty freshness, chocolate, and underlying peat nuances. Users appreciate the rum's dark, whisky-infused characteristics but note that its pronounced peaty finish may not suit everyone's taste, overshadowing its agricultural origins. While the unique blend of flavors intrigues, it provides a bold departure from traditional rum expressions, appealing to experimental drinkers.

"Wow, nasty trap! While the rhum initially evokes associations with the strong Saint James bottling for the 10th anniversary of Excellence Rhum (RX18129), after a few minutes in the glass it can't hide the two peaty whisky casks, so that I have trouble finishing the glass. As a result, my rating curve goes from 83 points on the nose to 80 points after the first two sips to just 70 points on the finish with the last drops. So only 74 points on average. I don't need to have it in my glass again."
