Start of with a very fruity. Lots of red fruits. Thick port. No smokiness from the Kilchoman yet. Oak. Lets taste: Ah there it is. A warm fire in the beginning ending in a gentle yet full bodied peat smoke. This is far from the peat that Kilchoman embodies. Bitter and dry flavours. Still heavy on the red fruits. Maybe a tad too much wood...not peat. Interesting project this, but almost never as great as a classic Bourbon or French oak matured rhum. For around 80€ I might have bought this.
Au nez un rhum avec un finish whisky tourbé. En bouche, un whisky avec un finish sur un rhum agricole. Ca ne plaira clairement pas à tout le monde mais si la tourbe est ici dominante, l'agricole sait lui résister et rester perceptible. Etonnant et agréable.
Un HSE efficace boisé épicé sur le chocolat bien noir avec une belle touche d'agrumes pour rafraîchir le tout.
An der Nase zuerst etwas Torf, Klebstoff, eine süße von Bienenwachs, dunkle Schokolade und Holz. Am Gaumen dann noch etwas Minze dazu Florale Noten und Tee. Die Süße von der Nase geht eher etwas in den Hintegrund. Mir wirkt er zu unrund.
