How does this rum taste?
Fans come for the high-ester TECC funk: overripe pineapple and tropical fruit wrapped in nail varnish, glue and medicinal tones. Cask-strength and intense, it finishes long and warm with citrus or banana hints. Some add a splash of water or shake a standout Daiquiri. With 25 RumX reviews and rising confidence, it’s a bold Long Pond pick the community discusses often.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
The initial smell could have been liquified UHU glue. The palate is quite strong and the alcohol a bit too intense. Watering it down to ca. 50% was a good idea. Really funky stuff, with water some spices are added, it gets a bit more oily and the finish is lang and warm (rather than sharp and painful). Some herbal juices linger for a while. Overall really nice - perfect stuff for a daiquiri.
Brutal... less gourmand than the TECA, austere notes of burnt rubber, silicone and a certain acidity. Really interesting, but less accessible.
Tasted 10-02-2024 Notes Nosing Acetone , light banana, heavy ester, apples & orange Tasting Heavy on the nail varnish, slightly sweetened fruit and finished with a weird hit of cacao ..
Salon Du Rhum 2024 Chocolate, Nougat. Great value for money.
