To Diamond
"I seriously did not enjoy this rum, to the point that I actually feel guilty giving it such a low mark when I know so many others would probably enjoy it. Let me explain why: On the nose this one is actually quite nice. Prominent butterscotch, with hints of citrus, vanilla and even a little rubber and glue. Ok, promising start. On to the palate: there is something in here which is so extremely bitter and off putting to my palate that it literally made cringe. There are other notes in here (leather, spices, vegetal, etc,) but I can’t be bothered to care because that bitterness is so foul to me. I’m sure others will have a different experience but I could not even finish the sample I had poured - a literal first for me. It gets part marks for the nose otherwise I could have scored this much, much lower."
"A surprising gem. Each sip was subtly different. Though it is sweet, it's not sugary tasting. With notes of bright fruits and marshmallow, this rum was fantastic."
