Oooofff, this is cracking for a white overproof rum. Nose is a bit muted but rewards you if you dig, peanut brittle, sugarcane moving to lead and a hint of meat. Mouth is fresh and lively, with strawberry, straw, and some expresso at the back end. The finish has light and spicy notes, with licorice and black tea finishing with a spiced coffee element. For a column still rum it is super well balanced and smooth. I’ll be hunting out a bottle, expect it will make a cracking daiquiri
Tasting 23-02-2024 This is a sample from a tasting set from Harold and Hansa in the UK . I have been impressed with what's been coming out in Madeira so excited to try at 60% . The nose is not overwhelming but seems a normal agricole type which is surprising as it's dialled up to 60% .. the grass hits you hit not much more .. The tasting is much better as the notes develop into slight overripe fruit and finishes with the delicious grass, fennel & pepper
