I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
A completely normal average rum, but better than the hazelnut stuff from just now ;-) Well, you have a slightly woody nose here, where caramel and chocolate are added. The same on the palate. It's just a little too sweet.
I couldn't tell that much difference to the Quorhum 30y. Very similar profile, perhaps a little stronger alcohol note and less complex, but whether the surcharge for a 23y or 30y is worth it, everyone has to decide for themselves. In any case, this rum is also good.
This one was a surprisingly found in a regular pub among other alcoholic beverages. I gave it a shot, it was not bad. Typical Dominican style nose, too sweet but pleasant. A lot of dried fruit and vanilla on palate. Short finish.
Beautiful Solera from the house of Oliver and Oliver. Nice and round, still has a certain freshness due to its not yet too old age. A little too unspectacular for me and also a little too sweet. Nevertheless, a nice round sweet rum whose sweetness is not yet too exaggerated. Overall, a good rum for beginners.
