Well, I'll be damned! What dynamite our alpha has unearthed yet again! The nose is very fruity, with lots of blackberries and a hint of caramel. Peach follows. On the palate, it clicks straight away: blackberry accompanied by red fruit, fairly bitter chocolate and a hint of caramelized brown sugar. A beautiful bitterness that counterbalances the fatness. The sting in the back of the throat reminds me a little of New Grove. But how good it is! The finish is very long and pleasant. This juice could clearly have been included in the exception range.
Encore une belle bouteille chez Ricci ! Je n’avais pas encore goûté de Ten Cane. Ici c’est un profil très sombre, chocolat, épices, fruits secs ainsi qu’un côté pêche de vigne très sympathique. Ça reste globalement assez droit, il n’y a pas forcément de grande surprise mais une longueur folle ! C’est également la cuvée anniversaire de mon fils :)
Visite dans les nouveaux locaux de Ricci : on étais les premiers ! Profil Ten cane typique de 2008 mais avec un beau boisé qui lui donne de la complexité.
Based on the very high ratings, I would have expected more. Overall, somewhat one-sided in the dark and spicy direction. For a higher rating, I miss more fruit, balance and better integrated alcohol. Seems a bit beastly.
