Diamond Plantation Guyana (Big Peat Islay Malt Scotch Whisky Cask) 2011 12yr 49,2%
Discover the intriguing "Plantation Guyana (Big Peat Islay Malt Scotch Whisky Cask)" rum, a unique creation from the Diamond distillery in Guyana, aged 12 years. This bold rum boasts a 49.2% ABV and a captivating blend of smoked and peated flavors, thanks to its finish in Islay whisky casks. Users praise its smoky, peaty aroma, reminiscent of charred wood and whiskey, with hints of coconut and roasted notes. The palate features smoky, savory bacon, and a touch of saltiness, creating a distinctive profile that blurs the lines between rum and whisky. Perfect for those seeking a crossover spirit that combines the richness of Guyana rum with the adventurous smokiness of Islay whisky. Ideal for whisky lovers and those looking for a bold, flavorful experience.

How does this rum taste?
Plantation Guyana (Big Peat Islay Malt) deeply splits opinions: its dominant peaty, smoky Islay notes overshadow Guyana's signature. While whisky lovers may appreciate its bold profile, rum purists often find it overpowering and unrecognizable as rum.

“Nase: Torf, verbrannter Zucker.

“Masterclass with Alexandre Gabriel on 04.04.2024. Plantation becomes Planteray. My absolute minus rum of this tasting. Even if it's well-intentioned to create something like this, it's just not my world at all. You either love it or you don't. Personally, I hate it. Sorry”
