"A rum tasted at the Fines Spirits Auction stand at the WLP. A strong machine shop nose with freshness and lots of bitter, wet wood. On the palate, the fruit explodes, but the bitterness of the wood immediately takes over and holds sway through to the finish. A fine rum for which strong oxidation should reveal treasures of hidden aromas. Very reminiscent of the yellow Velier 23yo 1994, but with an even more distinctive personality."
